Upgraded from 9.10 to 10.04 then to 11.10 on box #2. This is the family box and should be default French.

• As someone shut the box down during the upgrade, it was incomplete.
• I thought I had a nvidia driver issue and tried to install nvidia-current using CLI. It didn’t work but I was prompted to do dpkg --configure -a & that did the trick except I found myself w/ an English language & keyboard…
• then I had screen freezes. When I wanted to access nvidia X servers settings, I was unable to acces the X server display information page: it displayed
  

  Unable to load X Server Display Configuration page: Failed to query NoScanout for screen 0

  so I sudo apt-get install nvidia-current which didn’t help. This is Bug #882134 / #834529 – Resolved by updating the driver from 173 to « version current » as per http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1400792
