Otherpower
Otherpower.com (older ref.) sell off-the-grid power related stuff. It is owned and operated by a band of funny guys calling themselves ForceField operating from Colorado. Some of them live high in the mountains, linked by satellite internet!
Their latest project is a Large 17′ Homebrew Wind Turbine, but you can also learn how to build a DIY anemometer. They also have an interesting discussion board, and a huge link page.
